A forty room fit-out at Sheffield Hallam University

Sheffield Hallam is the third largest university in the UK with over 37,000 students. The £26 million Cantor Building was named after one of the University’s most generous donors and boasts some of the most sustainable and energy-saving features anywhere in the city.

The building houses elements of the Faculty of Arts, Computing, Engineering and Sciences, as well as specialist IT and other campus facilities. Saville won the contract to equip the building with integrated audio visual systems in forty rooms, including 22 seminar & meeting rooms, 13 computer teaching labs, two electronics labs and a double height lecture theatre, connected via a Cat6 cable infrastructure.

Two of the larger rooms feature dual projection facilities and many include bespoke Academy lecturers’ desks and Academy lecterns, housing source equipment and control systems. Rooms were equipped with Crestron control systems, rail mounted whiteboards, high performance audio systems and Panasonic projectors.
