Established in 1961 as a pioneering manufacturer of portable, modular buildings, Portakabin operates in seven countries and employs more than 1,700 people. In 2016, Portakabin was named UK Private Business of The Year.
At its UK head office site, the company decided to convert a large, but previously little-used space into a versatile meeting area with sophisticated presentation facilities. The installation was to include a raised stage area, a mobile, folding table system and high powered digital projection with a large, fixed frame screen.
The system provides a versatile, easy to use facilities package for an economical investment. It provides a future-proofed resource for professional presentations, allowing the company to derive tangible benefit from the space.
An AMX Modero touch screen panel plus an Apple® iPad running the TPControl app provides real-time, touch control of the AV system, lighting, blinds and room temperature.
At the heart of the control system is a new conference switcher, ensuring full WXGA output regardless of the PC input rsolution, so all inputs are displayed in 720P HD. A ceiling-mounted Christie LWU70 HD projector was chosen for its flexible connectivity, high resolution and brightness, whilst presenters can share content from their own PC or device on the main screen using a Barco Clickshare system.
An audio system comprising four 250W cabinet speakers with independent volume controls provides the optimum sound balance for different audience sizes.
A range of Quadra Academy folding tables was also supplied, together with Academy stacking chairs and a bespoke presenter’s lectern to house the source equipment.
